This role involves maintaining data center infrastructure, performing server and GPU installations, troubleshooting hardware issues, and ensuring reliable network access. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Center Technicians to join our team. This role involves maintaining data center infrastructure, performing server and GPU installations, troubleshooting hardware issues, and ensuring reliable network access. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in hyperscale environments, server hardware, and network fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks associated technicians as needed, including:
- Server and switch relocation, inspection, installation, and cabling.
- Component installation (NICs, drives, memory).
- Firmware updates and IP configuration.
- Troubleshooting and break-fix support.
- GPU deployment and configuration.
- Temporary racking and cabling for remote configuration.
- Collaboration with network administrators for issue resolution.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a hyperscale data center environment.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and server components.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and safely climb ladders.
- Willingness to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment and remain on feet for extended periods.
Preferred Certifications & Skills:
- CompTIA A+, Server+, CCENT (or equivalent experience).
- CCNA and MCP/MSCE certifications preferred.
- Experience with Windows OS and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, and optical testing.
- Understanding of storage devices and ITIL framework.
- Strong grasp of OSI Layers 1-3 and network fundamentals.
- Experience with copper and fiber optic cabling installation and termination.
- OSHA30 or higher certification.
