GIS Project Manager III

Midtown Atlanta, GA | Onsite Monday-Thursday, Remote Friday

3-Year Contract with W-2 Benefits

We’re hiring a Senior Project Manager to lead Geographic Information System (GIS) process improvement initiatives for our Fortune 500 energy client, a leading provider of natural gas utilities. In this PM role, you’ll drive efforts to streamline how natural gas transmission and large pipeline data is captured, validated, and integrated into the enterprise GIS — ensuring faster, more consistent, and higher-quality data across regional distribution operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead discovery sessions and stakeholder interviews with GIS Analysts, Engineers, Managers, and Directors across multiple natural gas distribution operations.
  • Document current-state GIS data workflows for how construction, pipeline assessment, and corrosion control data are collected and loaded into enterprise systems.
  • Identify inefficiencies and gaps in existing data intake and validation processes.
  • Develop process maps and process improvement plans to optimize how GIS data is captured, processed, and loaded across Natural Gas Transmission and Pipeline Operations.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to align on standardized GIS data handling practices and ensure adoption of new streamlined workflows.
  • Manage project plans, milestones, and communications focused on measurable process improvement.
  • Create clear documentation to support repeatable and scalable GIS data workflows across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • PMP or GISP certification required.
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
  • Proven experience managing process improvement or workflow optimization projects.
  • Background in GIS, IT, utilities, natural gas, pipeline, or energy operations.
  • Familiarity with GIS data workflows or enterprise GIS platforms (e.g., Esri ArcGIS).
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project or Jira.
  • Strong facilitation and collaboration skills across business and technical stakeholders.
