Position: Ceph Engineer
Location: Remote
Duration: 6+ months with possible extension
Job Description:
We are looking for an Open-Source Ceph Engineer with 5+ years to join our team, you will be crucial in designing, implementing, optimizing, and troubleshooting Open-Source Ceph-based storage solutions. You are the ideal candidate if you enjoy working on Open-Source Ceph, working on reliable storage infrastructures, improving engineering efficiency, and digging into the technical details to solve problems.
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate must have 5+ years hands-on experienced as a Platform Engineer and Unix System Administrator with extensive knowledge in Software Defined Storage architecture (Open-Source Ceph)
- Experience building collaborative working relationships with stakeholders across development verticals to support technology projects and initiatives
- Experience leading efforts to optimize design, technology, regulatory and/or process standards by leveraging innovative tools and technologies and gaining exposure to industry trends
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Experience setting priorities, objectives, and driving deliverables within own teams aligned with strategic objectives to a global technology domain
- Experience teaming with other technical experts to resolve/ anticipate issues and implement impactful solutions
- Act as a subject matter expert and active participant
Responsibilities
- Manages and maintains platforms by leading day-to-day building, maintaining, and monitoring of system and platform technologies
- Serves as a point of escalation, resolving problems of diverse scopes where analysis of the situation requires in-depth technical evaluation and judgement
- Participates in the planning and implementation of system/platform updates to optimize performance, efficiency, and capacity
- Supports process improvement efforts to identify and test opportunities for automation and/or reduction in time to deployment
- Performs security posture, which includes proactively identifying security risks and implementing both risk mitigation plans and control functions
