Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Biomedical or Mechanical Engineer to support the development of novel interventional medical devices. These devices integrate needle/catheter engineering, optical imaging, and implantable microdevices to improve precision in cancer diagnostics and treatment.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
Design and prototype medical needles, catheters, and microdevices using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
Fabricate parts using CNC machining, 3D printing, and related tools
Assemble and test devices for preclinical (ex vivo/in vivo) and early-stage clinical use
Collaborate with physicians, scientists, and engineers across oncology, optical imaging, and device development
Support in vivo studies in coordination with the interventional radiology and tumor biology teams
Assist with regulatory documentation and submissions for IRB and FDA pathways (e.g., IDE)

Qualifications:
- Education - Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required.
- Experience - Experience in device engineering in a hospital, industry, or academic 1-2 years preferred and Experience in medical engineering 0-1 year preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong CAD/modeling skills (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining and rapid prototyping
- Familiarity with catheter or needle-based device development
- Experience with 3D printing for functional prototypes
- Knowledge of medical device regulatory processes (e.g., risk assessments, design controls, IRB/FDA submission support)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple prototyping tasks in parallel
Location & Time Commitment
- Based in Boston/Cambridge, MA
- Full-time preferred; part-time or flexible options available for the right candidate
- Must be available for regular in-person lab work (device assembly/testing, support for experiments)
