Job Title: Security Consultant - Exabeam and Microsoft Defender
Type: Contract to Hire
Location: Remote (CST)

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Consultant with deep hands-on expertise in Exabeam and Microsoft Defender to support a strategic initiative to transition away from Arctic Wolf. This project is focused on enabling full control over the client s threat detection and response environment, ensuring visibility, training, and long-term sustainability of their internal security operations.
This role will be a key partner in helping design and implement Exabeam and MS Defender to their full capabilities, work closely with internal IT and security teams, and guide best practices and knowledge transfer for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the full implementation and configuration of Exabeam, maximizing its feature set and usability.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enable users, deliver training, and establish sustainable practices for proactive threat detection and monitoring.
• Extract and integrate log file data from various sources, including Microsoft, Azure, on-prem systems, and firewalls.
• Transition security event monitoring from Arctic Wolf to Exabeam/MS Defender without loss of continuity.
• Partner with IT teams to pull relevant historical data and logs from Arctic Wolf and other legacy systems.
• Configure alerting, reporting, and correlation rules within Exabeam and Microsoft Defender.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to help internal teams ramp up, implement best practices, and become self-sufficient.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define, document, and track security objectives aligned with the organization s 2025 security goals.

Requirements:

• Proven experience implementing and configuring Exabeam SIEM solutions in enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender and its integration with other security tools.
• Familiarity with log sources from Microsoft, Azure, firewalls, and other third-party systems.
• Experience migrating away from a managed security provider (e.g., Arctic Wolf) is strongly preferred.
• Ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong communication, documentation, and training skills.
• Experience with KnowBe4 or similar platforms for phishing detection is a plus.
