Desktop Support Technician (on-site)

Desktop Support Technician, MacOS, Windows
Contract to Hire
$45 to $50/hr. range W2 during the contract period
On-site 5 days per week, Baltimore, MD
Hours: 8 am-5 pm

ALTA IT Services is staffing a contract-to-hire position for a Desktop Support Technician on behalf of a respected scientific institute based in downtown Baltimore, MD. This is an on-site position, 5 days per week.

Skills:

• Configure and deploy computers using tools such as Jamf Pro, MECM, and Ansible.
• Provide technical support to staff and partners both in-person and, telephone, and through other collaboration tools.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair computers, peripherals, printers, VOIP phones, software, and other equipment.
• Assist with office moves for new and existing employees.
• Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of A/V equipment and conference rooms, including resolving technical problems and assisting staff and partners with connecting to A/V systems.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of work experience in a related field.
• Strong technical skills, including knowledge of hardware, software, and operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in an interrupt-driven environment.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift/move computer equipment up to 40 lbs.
• Apple Certified Macintosh Technician Certification (Preferred)
