Role: Lead Integration Engineer Location: NYC - Remote Duration: 18+ Months

Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Integrations Lead with a deep understanding of SQL Server, including complex Triggers, Stored Procedures, and Performance Tuning. The ideal candidate will also bring hands-on experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and Message Queuing systems (e.g., IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus) to manage and lead enterprise-level integration projects. The role demands deep experience with real-time, near real-time, API-based, batch/on-demand, and data synchronization integration patterns.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of integration solutions across systems and platforms.
Develop and optimize SQL Server scripts, triggers, and stored procedures to support complex data transformations and business logic.
Design, build, and maintain SSIS packages for ETL operations and data movement between systems.
Manage message queue integration for asynchronous communication between services using tools like IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
Collaborate with application developers, database administrators, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration.
Define best practices for integration standards, error handling, logging, and performance monitoring.
Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across environments.
Lead a small team of integration developers or act as a technical SME on large integration projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
10+ years of experience with SQL Server (2016 and above), including performance tuning, indexing strategies, and advanced T-SQL.
Strong understanding of Triggers, Stored Procedures, Views, and Functions.
6+ years of hands-on experience with SSIS for ETL workflows and automation.
Experience with Message Queueing systems such as IBM MQ, RabbitMQ, MSMQ, or Azure Service Bus.
Proven experience designing and maintaining integration architecture and patterns (batch, real-time, pub/sub).
Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and error handling practices in integration pipelines.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Preferred / Bonus Skills:
Experience with NYC government systems and standards (HRA, DSS, DOE, etc.).
Familiarity with SSIS, Azure Integration Services, or other middleware platforms.
Knowledge of data encryption, secure data transfer protocols, and regulatory compliance.
Agile/Scrum experience and familiarity with DevOps pipelines.

Education:
Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
