We need: Charles River Systems Administrator / Level 1 Support Consultant to join our technology team during the early stages of implementing both Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS) and Charles River Portfolio Management (CRPM). This role will act as a key front-line interface between business users, the internal technology team, and the Charles River implementation partner.This is a hands-on support and configuration role ideal for someone who understands investment workflows and can help ensure a stable and successful rollout of Charles River systems across the front-to-back trade lifecycle. Provide Level 1 user support during the CRIMS and/or CRPM implementation, including troubleshooting access issues, navigation, configuration queries, and day-to-day platform usability.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for traders, portfolio managers, operations staff, and compliance users on CRIMS-related issues.
  • Assist with user provisioning, access control, and permissions setup in collaboration with security and compliance teams.
  • Perform basic system configuration updates (e.g., workflows, rules, reference data mappings) under the guidance of the Charles River implementation team.

This role will act as a key front-line interface between business users, the internal technology team, and the Charles River implementation partner.

This is a hands-on support and configuration role ideal for someone who understands investment workflows and can help ensure a stable and successful rollout of Charles River systems across the front-to-back trade lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 user support during the CRIMS and CRPM implementation, including troubleshooting access issues, navigation, configuration queries, and day-to-day platform usability.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for traders, portfolio managers, operations staff, and compliance users on CRIMS-related issues.
  • Assist with user provisioning, access control, and permissions setup in collaboration with security and compliance teams.
  • Perform basic system configuration updates (e.g., workflows, rules, reference data mappings) under the guidance of the Charles River implementation team.
  • Monitor system performance and run daily checks to ensure uptime and data integrity.
  • Liaise with the Charles River implementation partner and internal technology leads to escalate and track tickets through resolution.
  • Support integration testing and post-deployment validation for Charles River connections to upstream/downstream systems such as:
    • Market data feeds (e.g., Bloomberg)
    • Trade matching/settlement (e.g., DTCC, Broadridge)
    • Internal risk, analytics, and compliance platforms
  • Document SOPs, issue resolution paths, and training guides for users.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting support using CRIMS reporting tools or SQL extracts if needed.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in Charles River support (ideally CRIMS and/or CRPM), either in-house or via a consulting partner.
  • Prior experience in a Level 1 support role, ideally in an investment management or hedge fund environment.
  • Good understanding of front-office workflows including order management, compliance checks, trade execution, and post-trade reporting.
  • Familiarity with Charles River modules such as compliance rules engine, trade blotters, and portfolio views.
  • Working knowledge of trade lifecycle and investment operations.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to document and prioritize support issues clearly.

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience with Charles River implementations or upgrades.
  • Familiarity with SQL, data mapping, and market/reference data tools.
  • Experience in asset management or alternative investments.
  • Knowledge of integration between CRIMS and other OMS/PMS tools.
  • Experience working with ServiceNow or other ITSM tools.
