Business Architect
Location: Remote
Duration: 6+ months
Job Description:
The Business Architect is responsible for aligning business strategies with technology capabilities by developing and maintaining business architecture models and artifacts. This role bridges the gap between enterprise strategy and execution, enabling business transformation through well-defined business capabilities, value streams, and operating models.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field. Master s degree preferred.
Certification(s):
- Business architecture or enterprise architecture certifications (e.g., BIZBOK, TOGAF). Agile certifications are a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain business capability maps and business process models across the enterprise.
- Partner with business leaders to understand strategic objectives and develop business architecture blueprints to inform IT investment decisions.
- Facilitate business-focused discussions and ensure enterprise capabilities align to strategic initiatives.
- Identify gaps in current business capabilities and recommend investments to address them.
- Guide enterprise technology solutions to support business operating models and transformation efforts.
- Collaborate with Enterprise and Solution Architects to translate business strategies into executable technology roadmaps.
Skills and Competencies:
The candidate must possess well-developed and demonstrated skills including:
- Strong understanding of enterprise business functions, organizational models, and value streams
- Ability to facilitate workshops and gain consensus across diverse business stakeholders
- Proven experience in capability-based planning
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Knowledge of business process modeling tools and methods
Candidate Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business architecture, enterprise architecture, or strategic planning
- Experience in healthcare industry is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional planning efforts
- Skilled at translating business vision into capability-driven roadmaps
Skills and Competencies:
The candidate must possess well-developed and demonstrated skills including:
- Deep understanding of integration patterns including API, messaging, ETL, and microservices
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and IHE
- Familiarity with cloud-native integration tools and platforms
- Strong problem-solving and system analysis skills
- Ability to collaborate with infrastructure, security, and development teams
