Vaco is actively seeking an AWS Cloud Product Owner to support our client’s continued growth in St. Louis.  This is a unique opportunity to join an internationally respected organization that is the leader in their field.

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will blend exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills with deep technical proficiency in AWS ecosystems, cloud initiatives/migrations, and DevOps methodologies within a SAFe Agile environment.

This role serves as the strategic link between engineering teams, operations, and senior leadership, translating business goals into actionable product features that drive scalability, innovation, and operational excellence.


Responsibilities:                   
 
  • Own the product roadmap and backlog for internal developer-facing platforms, ensuring alignment with business objectives, engineering priorities, and technical feasibility.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer and business, driving the delivery of AWS-based solutions with a clear focus on scalability, cost-efficiency, and security.
  • Guide Agile teams through Scrum and SAFe ceremonies, fostering continuous delivery and incremental improvement through CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
  • Facilitate backlog refinement and story creation; ensure work items are technically scoped and feasible for engineering execution.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineers and architects to define, prioritize, and deliver infrastructure-as-code, automated deployment solutions, and cloud-native enhancements.
  • Monitor cloud platform performance, usage, and cost, driving optimization initiatives across AWS and Azure environments.
  • Promote modern engineering practices including test-driven development, continuous integration, and cloud-native DevSecOps principles.
  • Identify and proactively manage risks, dependencies, and cross-team initiatives in complex, regulated, and data-intensive environments.
  • Communicate product vision, priorities, and team progress effectively across stakeholders from developers to executives.

Experience:
 
  • 5 years experience of technology and product ownership within cloud-centric environments.
  • Strong experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban frameworks including planning, ceremonies, and metrics.
  • Deep understanding of AWS infrastructure, tools, and services; familiarity with Azure is a plus.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with engineering teams on cloud migrations, containerization, infrastructure automation, and platform optimization.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps workflows, and tools such as Terraform, Git, Jenkins, or equivalent.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and presentation skills across technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Compensation: $150 - $170 p/h based on skills and experience
