Job :Network Support Engineer / Edge Networking Specialist
Location:Harrisburg, PA, USA
This position supports the Edge Networking Team under the Pennsylvania Office of Administration, responsible for designing, managing, and supporting enterprise-level network infrastructure across multiple Commonwealth agencies. The role requires a highly skilled networking professional with strong hands-on experience in LAN/WAN environments, routing, switching, troubleshooting, and modern network technologies such as SD-WAN. Candidates must be local to the Greater Harrisburg, PA area and be prepared to start immediately.
Provide network support for edge networks across Commonwealth agencies
Assist with planning, designing, maintaining & integrating LAN/WAN infrastructure
Responsibilities
Install, configure, maintain & manage network equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, SD-WAN, wireless & cellular devices)
Perform monitoring, testing, troubleshooting & issue resolution using network tools
Participate in network planning, capacity analysis & architectural improvements
Support deployments, upgrades & change management processes
Handle ServiceNow & Remedy tickets with proper documentation
Provide Tier-2 support for outages and incidents
Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements
Create and maintain Visio network diagrams & technical documentation
Ensure networks meet security standards set by OA
Support remote IT staff, agencies & business partners
Required Skills & Experience

- Knowledge of routing protocols
- Strong verbal & written communication
Additional Requirements
Ability to lift up to 40 50 lbs & work from a step ladder
Obtain & maintain CJIS clearance
Strong customer service & problem-solving skills
