ECS is seeking a Platform Infrastructure Engineering Lead to work in our Arlington, VA office (Hybrid) . Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

Job Description:

ECS is seeking talented professionals who love a challenge to join us in building the next-generation Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Cyber data solution. The CDM Program is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency's (CISA) dynamic approach to strengthening the cybersecurity of Federal networks and systems through better awareness and visibility into their security posture and cyber threats. ECS is responsible for designing, building, deploying, operating, and maintaining a complete 'Data Services' solution which includes the collection, normalization, visualization, and sharing of cyber data from more than 100 Federal agencies. The CDM Data Services product is a cloud-hosted solution comprised of multiple Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS), software configuration packages, and custom code which work together to operate as an integrated solution tailored to meet DHS requirements.

ECS is seeking a talented, diligent, collaborative, and energetic Platform Infrastructure Engineering Lead. The role will be responsible for managing, documenting, and leading a team that oversees all operational infrastructure across production environments and controlled lower-level environments. The successful candidate will track various sources of demand and resource requirements while remaining consistent with the CDM Dashboard solution vision. Infrastructure spans multiple cloud hosting providers and this position ensures compliance with hosting provider policies and governing security directives.

The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers that standardize infrastructure design through implementation of best practices, following policy guidance, collaborative working sessions, and incorporating many service offerings like cloud native services, containerization, and infrastructure as code.

Required Skills:
  • ship and ability to acquire Public Trust Suitability
  • A Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of experience managing large production environments across cloud providers with a focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • At least 6 years of experience of monitoring infrastructure for changes in demand, planning for capacity growth, automating where possible, and producing timely and targeted notifications when resources are constrained
  • At least 4 years of experience designing cloud-based infrastructure solutions for large distributed applications to include network design, host management, and user management with security best practices in mind
  • At least 4 years of experience pursuing, obtaining, and maintaining a FISMA authorized system, and contributing to documentation, ATO process, and supporting information security requests
  • At least 4 years leading a high performing engineering team and managing, planning, and prioritizing work according to relevant project management frameworks


Desired Skills:
  • Experience working with Federal Government clients
  • Strong understanding of DevOps processes, methodologies, and philosophies
  • Experience with containerization and microservice architectures
  • Relevant professional level certifications
