Job Title: AWS & Snowflake Architect Location: Remote Duration: Full Time

Job Description Role Overview
The AWS & Snowflake Architect will design and develop enterprise-scale data solutions using Snowflake, focusing on AWS-native frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, and governance. This role requires expertise in integrating Apache Iceberg with AWS Glue Data Catalog, enabling ACID-compliant data lakes, and ensuring metadata consistency across Snowflake and AWS ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities
Architect end-to-end data pipelines using AWS Glue for ETL/ELT workflows, cleansing and transforming data before loading into Snowflake
Design Apache Iceberg tables managed by AWS Glue Data Catalog, ensuring seamless integration with Snowflake
Implement metadata synchronization between AWS Glue and Snowflake, maintaining technical lineage and schema evolution tracking
Optimize columnar database modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas) for Snowflake s hybrid columnar storage, including clustering, partitioning, and materialized views to support analytics
Enforce data governance through AWS IAM roles, Snowflake RBAC, and Glue Catalog policies for centralized access control
Develop observability frameworks for pipeline performance
Architect and design robust, cost-effective Snowflake data warehouse solutions tailored to business needs
Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS-native tools (e.g., AWS Glue, S3, Lambda) to cleanse, transform, and load data into Snowflake
Integrate structured and semi-structured data (JSON, Parquet, Avro) from various AWS sources into Snowflake
Define and enforce data governance, access control (RBAC), and security best practices across AWS and Snowflake environments
Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver end-to-end data solutions
Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best practices for Snowflake and AWS data integration

Required Skills
5+ years in Snowflake architecture, including Iceberg table creation and external catalog integration
Proficiency in AWS Glue (Spark/Python), Lake Formation, and S3 for Iceberg-based data lakes
Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance in cloud environments
Expertise in SQL optimization, DDL/DML for Iceberg, and Snowflake performance tuning
Hands-on experience with metadata tools (Glue Crawlers, Snowflake Information Schema) and lineage tracking
Strong knowledge of columnar storage principles, data vault modeling, and slowly changing dimensions
Deep expertise in AWS data services (AWS Glue, S3, Lambda, Kinesis, etc.) and integrating these with Snowflake for automated, scalable data pipelines

Preferred Certifications
SnowPro Advanced Architect
AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty
AWS Certified Solutions Architect
