Overview
We are seeking a Senior Accessibility Specialist to lead the development, implementation, and management of an accessibility program for our organization s websites and applications. The ideal candidate will have experience building and executing accessibility strategies for large organizations, ensuring compliance with global regulations, and driving initiatives to create inclusive digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive accessibility framework aligned with industry standards (WCAG, ADA, Section 508, etc.).
Lead cross-functional teams to integrate accessibility best practices into design, development, and content workflows.
Conduct accessibility audits, assessments, and gap analyses to identify and address areas of improvement.
Oversee and ensure compliance across 4,000+ public-facing sites, ensuring adherence to privacy, security, and brand guidelines.
Collaborate with internal teams to build accessibility awareness and ensure compliance during the entire project lifecycle.
Provide training, guidance, and support on accessibility best practices and tools.
Monitor and report on accessibility metrics and progress across platforms.
Stay updated on global accessibility regulations and emerging trends.
Manage vendor or consultant relationships to support accessibility initiatives.
Drive a shift-left approach, ensuring accessibility is prioritized early in the delivery lifecycle.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience creating or managing accessibility programs in large organizations.
Strong understanding of accessibility standards and regulations (WCAG, ADA, Section 508, etc.).
Experience overseeing website compliance for privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to think strategically and translate vision into actionable plans.
Strong collaboration and project management skills.
Self-directed, independent, and highly driven.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with end-to-end website creation including CMS platforms (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager), Tag Management tools, and compliance requirements such as Privacy Notices, Terms of Use, and secure site creation.
Familiarity with website domain registration and management processes.
