SAP ABAP performance Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and troubleshoot performance issues in ABAP reports, enhancements, and interfaces.

Use performance analysis tools (ST05, SE30, SAT, ST12, SQL Trace) to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
Optimize database access patterns and ABAP logic for improved performance, especially in HANA environments.
Conduct regular code reviews to ensure adherence to SAP and performance best practices.
Work closely with functional consultants, BASIS, and DBAs to resolve cross-functional performance issues.
Support performance testing cycles and collaborate with QA and operations teams.
Contribute to technical design reviews and provide input on performance risks early in the project lifecycle.
Create documentation and guidelines for ABAP performance standards and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development and performance tuning.
Deep knowledge of SAP performance analysis tools (ST05, SAT, SE30, ST12).
Strong experience with performance optimization in SAP HANA environments.
Proficiency in object-oriented ABAP and usage of modern ABAP syntax.
Understanding of SAP modules (e.g., SD, MM, FI, or custom Z-modules).
Experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.

Preferred Skills
Experience with SAP Fiori, CDS Views, AMDPs, or ABAP RESTful Programming Model.
Familiarity with SAP BTP and integration tools (e.g., OData, PI/PO).
Knowledge of SQL execution plans and database-level performance analysis.
SAP ABAP Certification is a plus.
