RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's notable American multinational automotive and clean energy company his looking for a Project Engineer to join their Austin, TX team. This role is a 6-month contract to start yet may extend based on project demands. This role is 100% onsite.
Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and accomplished Project Engineer who will lead the design and implementation of automated material handling system for new and existing factories and programs. The Project Engineer is responsible for the efficient and reliable flow of material to the manufacturing lines. This includes the implementation and continuous improvement of automated material handling equipment such as automated storage systems, final assemble conveyance such as car bodies, batteries, and drive units, etc. This role is to make sure that MFE system's designs meet goals and objectives.
Day to Day:
* Work with automated material handling solutions to establish new and improved existing material flows throughout the factory; This includes material arrival at docks, delivery to line-side locations, material transport between internal manufacturing lines, buffer/storage systems, robotic material handling solutions; Solutions will handle a large variety of products such as car bodies, large commodities (tires, seats, fascia, doors), powertrain parts (electric motor components), pallets/boxes/trays, individual battery cells
* Work with 3rd party vendors on system build, integration, and testing
* Responsible for specifying equipment in form of project specifications and requirements
* Managing project scope, budget, timeline, and implementation
* Lead the overall layout and system design process
* Communication with internal and external stakeholders and vendors about project status, critical items and priorities
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering (or equivalent)
* 5+ years of practical automated material handling and process equipment experience in industries such as automotive, consumer goods/food and beverage manufacturing, distribution, and semiconductor
* Strong understanding or experience with automation equipment and design processes around it
* Must understand the integration of equipment design into existing or new systems
* Mill wright and rigging experience (Coordinating industrial equipment installation)
* Ability to lead a project from concept through to installation and hand-over while working in a close-knit, team environment
* Willing to shift work hours and open to working 10-hour days or Saturday and Sundays
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
