Your role
Are you a highly skilled Senior Data Management Officer? Do you have extensive experience in data management, governance, and strategy implementation, particularly within a large-scale business environment? Do you want to play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, quality, and security of our data assets while aligning with regulatory requirements and business objectives?
We're looking for someone to:
design, establish, and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy and data architecture strategy tailored to the needs of our organization within the financial services industry
lead efforts to identify and address complex data quality issues, conducting root cause analyses, and devising effective remediation plans
coordinate data governance forums or committees, engaging stakeholders at senior levels to drive alignment and decision-making
develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure data quality and provide regular metrics and reports to stakeholders to establish and measure data risk appetite
collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to data governance standards and best practices across the organization
train and onboard new hires and role holders across various departments to enhance their understanding of data management principles and their roles in maintaining data integrity
stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry trends related to data management and governance, making recommendations for continuous improvement
participate in strategic planning sessions to align data management initiatives with organizational goals and objectives
Your team
The WMA Data Management Office (DMO) is a centralized team responsible for overseeing the collection, storage, integration, and governance of data across the organization. It ensures data quality, consistency, and compliance with regulatory requirements, while also supporting data-driven decision-making and strategic initiatives. This position reports to the GWM Americas Chief Data Officer. The DMO collaborates with various departments to establish data standards, policies, and procedures to maximize the value of data assets and mitigate risks associated with data usage.

Your expertise
ideally a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Administration; advanced degree preferred
experience in data management, data governance, or a related field within the financial services industry
proven track record of designing and implementing data governance strategies and data architecture frameworks in large-scale businesses
strong understanding of data management concepts, including data lineage, taxonomies, data structures, and data quality assessment methodologies
experience working with regulatory bodies and familiarity with compliance requirements related to data management within the financial services sector
excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving data quality issues
ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
a self-starter willing to dive deep into subject matter and challenge the status quo
