General Summary:

You will be working on an industry-leading wireless research team responsible for software development for the next generation wireless research platforms, leveraging cutting edge SW tools and technologies including GenAI.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• 1+ years' experience with Programming Languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

Successful candidates have one or more of the following:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Extensive programming in C/C++
• Object-oriented software design and development
• Distributed systems and networking protocols
• Real-time and embedded software development for general purpose and heterogeneous processors including GPUs and DSPs
• Multi-threaded programming
• Multi-core and multi-processor systems
• Machine learning for wireless communications systems
• System performance optimization
• Knowledge of protocols such as 5G NR, LTE and 802.11
• Experience in complex software debugging
• Knowledge of modeling concepts (e.g. discrete event simulation, polyglot programming)
• Knowledge of networking concepts (e.g. bridging, routing), especially in Linux
• Experience developing device drivers and embedded programming
• Experience implementing and optimizing signal processing algorithms

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and develop software for small and large-scale wireless research systems
• Collaborate with wireless research Systems, Hardware and Integration teams
• Investigate and implement multi-core, multi-threaded, and multi-processor solutions to maximize parallelism and performance
• Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to the evolution of wireless system architectures

• Works under supervision
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc
• Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$103,600.00 - $155,400.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
