We're currently seeking Workday System Architect for the Commonwealth of Kentucky s Cabinet for Health & Family Services. This position is fully remote.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Finance System Architect will be the technical lead for the administration and configuration of the New Financial Accounting and Human Resource System. This position will collaborate with business partners to identify, recommend, and implement system improvements and enhancements, including reporting, dashboards, integrations, and configuration changes that will enable the new application y to support the CHFS budget, accounting and reporting system (BARS) strategic and operational priorities. The incumbent will also function as a quality assurance and change management advocate to manage the application's release cycles.
This hands-on role requires a demonstrated working knowledge of financial and human resource application's components. The incumbent should be able to identify, define and resolve potential problems and enhance system functionality by making changes to the following: System Configuration, Operational Processes, Security Profiles, Complex Reports, and Integrations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
- Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
- Identify and establish scope and parameters of systems analysis in order to define outcome criteria and measure taking actions.
- Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.
- Conduct research and data analysis to justify recommendations and to support systems modification efforts.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 3+ years of experience in Finance domain with 2+ years of experience in finance and human resource application experience.
- Experience in Cash Basis Accounting Methodology.
- Experience in General Ledger/Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable/Assets.
- Experience in data conversion in finance.
- Must have extensive experience in architecting, designing, developing, and implementing large scale applications.
- Strong understanding of the most current SDLCs of the day, including the Agile software development lifecycle, object-oriented analysis, test driven development, design, implementation and translating business requirements into technical artifacts.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL for implementing database-driven applications.
- Experience in working with cross-sector teams, including development, infrastructure, and network operations teams.
- Experience with MS access and MS Excel.
- Experience reviewing and producing technical documentation.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), Claims based authentication.
- Data center and troubleshooting IT techniques.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Platform.
- Experience with AWS platform.
- Experience with Microsoft .NET technologies, SQL Server, VMWare for server virtualization, MS Windows Server, Server hardware, IIS and web server standards, Storage SAN and NAS, Server Health Monitoring, FTP
- Functional experience in Workday Finance modules.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Workday Finance Certified.
- Three or more end to end Workday Finance Implementations Experience.
- Understand and apply Workday methodologies.
- Experience with Workday financial management and human capital management system software.
