Senior Estimator
Position Overview - Senior Estimator
We're a leading provider of water infrastructure solutions, specializing in the design, construction, and restoration of essential systems that serve communities nationwide. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and preparing detailed proposals for construction projects. The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project drawings and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Conduct cost analysis and evaluate project requirements to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for estimating.
- Prepare and submit thorough tender documents and proposals.
- Negotiate contracts with clients and subcontractors to achieve favorable terms.
- Utilize tools such as Bluebeam for digital takeoffs and cost estimation.
- Perform value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Respond to RFIs and provide clarification on project specifications as needed.
- Monitor and report on project costs throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- AMPP Certification a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in cost analysis, quantity surveying, and budgeting techniques.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction practices.
- Experience with contract negotiation and tendering processes.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam and other industry-standard estimating software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients and team members.
