Solution IT Inc. is looking for a Senior Data Engineer Retail Data Integration (RFID, ETL, BigQuery, API) for one of its clients Atlanta, GA

Job Title: Senior Data Engineer Retail Data Integration (RFID, ETL, BigQuery, API)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer / ETL Developer to support our SmartExits program an RFID-driven solution designed to monitor merchandise movement at store entrances and exits. This role involves building and enhancing data pipelines that integrate store RFID events, transactional systems, and third-party platforms (TrueVue Enterprise & Cloud) to enable enterprise-wide reporting, fraud/theft detection, and operational insights.

Responsibilities:

SmartExits Data Integration

  • Enhance and maintain pipelines that capture RFID merchandise events and reconcile them against store transactions (Sales, Returns, Fulfilment).
  • Ensure accurate event-to-transaction mapping to support Asset Protection teams in theft detection and pattern analysis.

System Enhancements & Migration

  • Fulfilment Data Migration: Transition current sources from legacy Teradata-to-BQ tables to new DCR Trust tables.
  • EDA to DCR Migration: Replace costly EDA file feeds with direct integration to DCR Trust tables for greater scalability and store control.
  • Product File Publishing: Develop and manage processes for publishing product files to TrueVue Enterprise and Cloud APIs.
  • Transactional Data Processing:
    • Maintain file-based feeds for enterprise systems.
    • Build and support new API-based integrations for migrated Cloud stores.

Replay Mechanism: Design and implement processes to replay/publish transactional data to both TrueVue Enterprise and TrueVue Cloud for resiliency and data recovery.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with DCR and Fulfilment Systems teams to ensure seamless data integration.
  • Partner with internal business stakeholders and external vendors (TrueVue, EDA) to manage requirements and troubleshoot issues.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in ETL/Data Engineering roles within retail, supply chain, or related domains.
  • Proven track record in building resilient and scalable data integration pipelines.
  • Proficiency in Python for ETL automation and data integration.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL Server and BigQuery (BQ) for complex queries and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) is a plus.
  • Experience with API development/integration (REST-based).
  • Exposure to DCR (Data Capture Repository) and Fulfillment Systems is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of RFID-based retail systems, transactional data flows (Sales, Returns, Fulfillment), and enterprise-level reporting.
  • Experience with third-party system integration (e.g., TrueVue Enterprise/Cloud) preferred.
