Principal Infrastructure Architect

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the business stakeholders to develop Enterprise Architecture deliverables that articulate the business strategy, business outcomes, business capabilities and other elements needed to support business outcomes such as investment and cost analysis.
• Develop and implement the company s technology innovation agenda to ensure that the company is a leader in the application of technology to our various businesses. Interface with the businesses and executive management on strategies with alignment to technology and innovation.
• Develop and maintain Solutions enterprise-wide technology architecture strategy which catalogues the existing architectures, identifies areas for synergies and provides guidelines to maximize the return on investment across the enterprise.
• Provide leadership and direction to integrate architecture best practices into critical processes and disciplines such as acquisition/purchasing, vendor management, portfolio/program management and project management.
• Develop the solution architecture function to support the companies most important and complex initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned or requested.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure with at least 3 years in a senior or principal architect role.
• Proven expertise in designing large-scale, distributed infrastructure systems in hybrid cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Deep understanding of network architecture, storage solutions, virtualization, containers, and automation frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles and infrastructure hardening.
• Experience with disaster recovery planning, high availability design, and capacity planning.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, TOGAF, ITIL, Cisco, VMware).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong business acumen and ability to align technical solutions with business objectives.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or HIPAA.
• Experience in leadership and management of IT environments of appropriate scale and complexity, ideally either leading an architecture organization or a group within an architecture function.
• Experience in all aspects of Senior Architecture roles, including leading the development and execution of comprehensive IT strategies and roadmaps and the development and execution of architectural requirements and technology standards.
• Broad and deep IT platform and application expertise.
• Strong understanding of modern infrastructure practices, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Containerization, and SD Data Center.
• Excellent ability to engage with senior business and IT leadership to understand the goals of the organization.
• Clearly communicate business strategies and articulate dependencies and requirements to business leaders.
• Strategic thinking and the ability to influence innovation to establish and execute planning processes.
• Excellent organizational skills, strong analytic and conceptual skills and solid financial analysis skills coupled with demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Highly proficient at influencing the organization at a business, executive and technical level.
• Demonstrates solid understanding of the health care industry trends and directions.
