Job Details

Description

The Body Electronics System Test Engineer will:

  • Lead Body electronics feature and system testing.
  • Create, manage, and complete Body electronics software feature validation plans.
  • Develop test methodologies to support new technology launch.
  • Lead test automation framework development and execution.
  • Collect data using advanced test equipment.
  • Analyze, review results and document failures.
  • Author validation reports
  • Work with the supplier to assure that all results are correct and delivered on-time.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Lead system test issue resolution initiatives
  • Lead best practices and process improvement initiatives.
  • Lead Export validation activities in foreign countries with local partners
  • Lead regulatory and compliance relevant activities for body electronics software features.
  • Participate in DFMEA work groups.
  • Lead program team reviews and demos.
  • Maintain communication with cross-functional stakeholders.

Additional Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with proven technical and professional skills in Engineering.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent field of study
  • Valid US Driver License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in programming/scripting (Python etc.)
  • Experience with vehicle and bench validation at component or subsystem level
  • Experience at an automotive OEM or supplier in software development, test automation etc. area
  • Experience with data logging tools (CANALYZER, Vehicle Spy Tools etc.)
  • Experience with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) process and familiarity with Gherkin.
  • Quick to learn, ambitious, and willing to work hands-on with GM's vehicles and benches.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal direction.

The determination by HR and the Hiring Manager as to whether an offer will be lateral or promotional will be based on a candidate's relevant experience and whether the role will amount to a significant increase in level of responsibility.
