A consumer products company in New Jersey s looking to add a new Automation & Controls Engineer to their growing team. In this role, the Automation & Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, installing and troubleshoot operations systems and equipment & developing and installing new production processes

Responsibilities:

The Automation & Controls Engineer will:



  • Design, develop and maintain new or existing control systems as part of continuous improvement or capital projects

  • Design, develop and maintain process system databases (SQL) that support the manufacturing control and monitoring systems

  • Support project startup assistance and training for control systems

  • Support or manage small to medium size Automation & Controls capital projects

  • Collaborate with Information Technology (IT) resources for the integration and resolution of server, PC, database, HMI, and Ethernet networks, and other hardware or software related issues

  • Develop and maintain documentation for new and existing control systems, to include, but not limited to, electrical schematics, SOP's, training manuals, Functional Requirements Documents, Functional Specification Documents, and P&ID's

  • Perform other duties, as needed


Qualifications:



  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering Technology, or equivalent degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

  • Microsoft Office proficient

  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Effective at handling multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong planning, organizational and decision-making skills

  • Great interpersonal skills

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Strong attention to detail


Desired Skills:



  • 5 years of experience as Automation & Controls Engineer

  • Working experience in a manufacturing or Process Safety Management (PSM) environment

  • Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools & techniques
