JOB RESPONSIBILITES -
This position is for a Data Center Facilities Technician supporting the ALTESS Facilities Management Team. ALTESS is a managed service provider for Army and DoD IT systems and runs multiple Army private clouds and Microsoft Azure Gov and DoD region public clouds. This position will be the Data Center Facilities Operations Technician for all IT and facilities electrical and mechanical infrastructure.

JOB DUTIES
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems throughout the facilities when issues arise.
Install new electrical circuits for the building, infrastructure equipment, and IT equipment.
Maintain and operate Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Emergency Generators, Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPSs), Chillers, Cooling Towers, Sewer Ejections systems, Building Automation Systems (BAS), etc.
Design, layout, and install conduit runs to accommodate new circuits.
Oversee vendor provided preventative maintenance and equipment installation technicians to ensure that work is being performed to government standards and meets all code and scope of work (SOW) requirements of the project.
Use ServiceNow application to manage incident tickets, change tickets, and manage workflow of projects.
Follow written procedures and be able to work off diagrams and schematics.
Troubleshoot issues related to mechanical, electrical, and building automation systems (BAS) failures.
Maintain required maintenance contract and purchase order documentation and diagrams as needed for facilities operations.
Identify equipment/system deficiencies and recommend possible solutions to maintain proper operation of data center and infrastructure components.
Collaborate with internal and external parties to forecast, design, and implement needed upgrades and repairs of all facilities infrastructure related equipment.
Provide 24/7/365 on-call support for emergency failures of all data center supporting equipment and systems.
Other duties as assigned. This position supports all facilities infrastructure related functions. Other job duties associated with this position are inclusive of all trades and aspects related to building maintenance, upkeep, operations, janitorial, grounds, and repairs. Including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, etc.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Associate s degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Technology, Instrumentation or equivalent vocational training in the HVAC field.
2 years' Knowledge/experience in commercial Electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and/or building automation systems.
Required to live within a 30-minute radius of the ALTESS facility to support call in emergency responses prior to impact of IT equipment.
Experience with Microsoft Office products like Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience effectively managing projects.
Experience forecasting materials needed for projects/repairs, acquiring quotes, and submitting purchase requests.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, or BAS system equipment failures.
Strong understanding of fundamental concepts pertaining to electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment and systems.
Ability to analyze multiple infrastructure systems at one time during emergency situations to determine which system is causing the outage, then find identify the root cause and address the issues.
Strong knowledge of building automation concepts and operation.
Must be a self-motivated, quick learner with a strong mechanical aptitude.
