Position Description
Reporting to the Director of Digital Business Solutions, the Associate Director will oversee the delivery of new and existing business solutions, maintenance, and operational reporting from our SIS and other Enterprise Applications. The Associate Director will lead a team of Digital Business Solutions Analysts who work closely with the functional areas across the University, to assess current processes; elicit requirements for the creation or procurement of new applications, integrations, and reports; and, oversee, and maintain, existing applications and services.
The Associate Director of Digital Business Solutions is responsible for the timely delivery projects, break-fixes are resolved timely, and providing KPI reporting to leadership. This role will also be instrumental to assessing and evaluating software and solutions.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and mentorship to the team of analysts, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
Conduct regular performance evaluations and identify opportunities for professional growth and development
Collaborate with the Director of Digital Business Solutions to develop and implement strategic plans and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives
Assess new technology solutions for good technical fit and business applicability
Manage relationships with cross-functional teams, including with the functional areas of the organization
Evaluate and analyze business requirements, technical requirements, and other documentation, including but not limited to Gap Analysis and Return-on-Investment
Provide timely, concise, updates to management; and, escalate issues as appropriate
Provide leadership on projects and operational initiatives
Oversee ticket queues and manage backlog
Provide guidance on problem resolution
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Proven leadership in managing an IT Team
Excellent analytical and complex problem solving skills
Strong organization, time management, and priority management skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Project Management Skills
Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure
Extensive knowledge of IT tools (i.e. SQL, Cognos, ETL Tools (i.e. Veera), code repository (i.e. Stash, GitHub)
Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships and support
Experience with KPI reporting
At least 3 years of management experience
At least 5 years of IT and higher education/business work experience
Master s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field; or equivalent work experience in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field
Preferred qualifications
Experience with SQL (i.e. Oracle SQL Developer)
Ellucian Banner ERP Experience
IBM Cognos, or other reporting tools (i.e. Tableau)
Salary & Benefits
- In compliance with The State of New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $99,000 to $115,500. When extending any salary offer, Rowan University considers many factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, work experience, education, training, key skills, internal equity, as well as market and other organizational considerations.
For eligible employees, benefits include: comprehensive NJ State health, dental and retirement benefits, extensive accrued time off/paid holidays, and tuition reimbursement for employee, spouse, and dependents to attend Rowan University, Glassboro.
