Role : Cloud Security Architect

Location: Houston,Texas(Onsite/5 days a week)

Duration: Long term (Possible Direct Hire)

Job responsibilities:

Design a highly scalable, automated, and available cloud platform, utilizing IaaS and PaaS, for large scale, mission critical applications, aligned with the client cloud-smart strategy and architecture predominantly hosted on Microsoft Azure Cloud.

Establish Architecture standards and maintain in repository.

Create and implement DevOps, support, maintenance and governance practices and processes for the Cloud Platform.

Solution and implement all aspects of Cloud service models and application delivery such as IaaS, PaaS, Serverless and Containerization infrastructure.

Fortress Design and Implementation:

Design, implement, and manage security configurations for our Azure environment, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and compliance standards.

Leverage your expertise in Azure Security services like Azure Security Center, Azure Defender for Cloud, and Azure Entra to fortify our defenses.

Establish security architecture for the entire cloud platform such as Entra Administration and Operations, Azure Subscription level security model and operations

Establish Azure policies to ensure that desired certification level are achieved.

Threat Hunting and Incident Response:

Proactively hunt for potential security vulnerabilities within our Azure environment using security tools and threat intelligence.

Investigate and respond to security incidents efficiently, minimizing damage and ensuring swift resolution.

Work collaboratively with the security team to analyze incidents, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures.

Security Posture Optimization:

Continuously monitor and evaluate our Azure security posture, identifying areas for improvement and recommending security enhancements.

Stay up-to-date on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities specific to Azure, implementing necessary safeguards.

Participate in security assessments and penetration testing to identify and address potential weaknesses.

Collaboration is Key:

Work closely with developers, IT operations, and other stakeholders to integrate security best practices into the development lifecycle.

Clearly communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Lead and participate in architectural and governance reviews and/or audits.

Consult and support other divisions within solutions delivery in application integration and development.

Review and recommend technologies to meet business needs and priorities and to align with enterprise strategies.

Create necessary project documentation and transfer operation manuals.

Troubleshoot problems in the operational infrastructure and applications, including follow-up problem resolution, root cause analysis and process improvement.

Additional skills:

Microsoft Azure Security certifications (AZ-500) - Preferred

Minimum of 4-year degree in Computer Information systems or management. This experience can be waived with equivalent on job IT Experience.

Proven experience as an MS Azure Security Engineer or similar security role.

In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure security services and functionalities.

A strong understanding of cloud security principles, best practices, and compliance frameworks.

Experience with security tools and methodologies for threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.

Ability to script in at least two common languages (e.g., PHP, Python, Terraform, PowerShell desirable).

YAML, JSON, Azure ARM templates, Azure Runbooks, Ansible and others

Visio or other source of creating drawing.
