Application Programmer

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer with our client in the financial industry located in Addison, TX, Newark, DE and Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for development & maintenance of complex software requirements to accomplish business goals
• Understand the complete end-to-end architecture involving Kafka, DB2, IBM IIDR and SingleStore
• Understand the operating production environments, configurations
• Operate as a technical / team lead guiding few more engineers in Application support work
• Ensure that software is meeting functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements
• Responsible for writing code, configuration, unit testing, and ensures the solution can be integrated successfully into the overall application/system with clear, robust and well-tested interfaces
• Contribute to story refinement/defining requirements
• Participate and guide team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle
• Perform spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
• Code solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
• Utilize multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirement
• Assist team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work
• Contribute to existing test suites (integration, regression, performance),analyze test reports, identify any test issues/errors, and triage the underlying cause
• Document and communicate required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality
• Participate, contribute and can coach team members in the delivery/release (CI-CD) events, e.g. branching timelines, pull requests, issue triage, merge/conflict resolution, release notes

Requirements:

• 10+ years industry experience
• Seasoned Kafka Development Lead with Hands on experience working on Kafka cluster
• Experience writing Kafka producer/consumer code
• Knowledge about Kafka multi-region stretch cluster and optimal cluster configuration
• Knowledge of distributed Kafka connect clusters and developing Kafka connectors with understanding of performance configuration
• Experience with Data Replication Technologies and familiarity with Change Data Capture Products
• Working experience with any of RDBMS such as MemSQL, Oracle and DB2
• Experience with Store Procedures, SQLs
• Experience with JDBC Code development protocol
• Java knowledge to write code using eclipse or IntelliJ tools
• Understanding of java coding standards and deployment process

Desired skills:

• Experience with Agile development and tool set like Jira
• Knowledge of Splunk and Dynatrace tool usage on logging and monitoring
• Experience querying Splunk logs and dashboard creation for analysis
• Linux/Unix usage with python or shell scripts knowledge for automation
• Extensive experience with Data replication products like IBM IIDR

Pay range: $55.07 - $63.07
