Job Overview:
The Engineer 2 - Systems, AS/400 role involves supporting the Automated Rental Management System (ARMS), which provides services and software solutions to insurance companies, dealerships, fleets, and collision repair centers. The ARMS Infrastructure team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the ARMS environments, ensuring consistent uptime for Non-Production and Production environments. This position plays a critical role in supporting quality business processes and procedures, including patching, upgrading infrastructure, maintaining certificates, database changes, and providing restorative services.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
  • Ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
  • Monitor and test application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions.
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and reduce human intervention.
  • Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
  • Administer security for SSO, SAML, and SSL certificates, including coding for certification/key deployments in production.
  • Support software and hardware upgrades/maintenance for middleware, OS, and products such as WebLogic, Tomcat, ESB, and AIX.
  • Implement configuration changes and redesigns, including instance creation and modifications.
  • Address internal server account ID expirations and make coding changes as needed.
  • Collaborate with IT cross-teams, including platform teams for AIX, iSeries, Networking, Linux, Unix, and App Performance.
  • Remediate security vulnerabilities identified by third-party tools such as Nexpose and PEN Test.
  • Create and maintain application performance monitoring processes using tools like Dynatrace and Splunk.

Qualifications:
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities.
  • 5+ years of combined software and infrastructure engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of AS400 experience.
  • Experience with System i (iSeries)/Mimix.
  • Database skills, including System I, Oracle, and Maria.
  • Database Administrator experience, including file changes, creations, and support.
  • Mule development and support for development transactions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in Agile methodology using JIRA.
  • Hands-on experience with Splunk.
  • Experience with Jenkins or other continuous integration tools.
  • Experience in AWS and ESB technology.

Pay Range: $55 - $65

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
