Description: Our client is currently seeking a Platform Engineer/ Performance Tester
Location: 100% Remote (Eastern hours)
Contract/Perm: Perm Role
About the Role
As a Platform Engineer / Performance Tester, you will play a critical role in modernizing enterprise-class software applications for the U.S. Courts under the Case Management Modernization (CMM) Program. This initiative supports over 204 federal courts across the U.S., including Appellate, District, and Bankruptcy courts. You'll work within an agile team to design, implement, and maintain performance testing frameworks for cloud-native applications, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and efficiency.

About the Role
As a Platform Engineer / Performance Tester, you will play a critical role in modernizing enterprise-class software applications for the U.S. Courts under the Case Management Modernization (CMM) Program. You'll work within an agile team to design, implement, and maintain performance testing frameworks for cloud-native applications, ensuring system reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated performance testing frameworks integrated with CI/CD pipelines.
- Define and monitor performance KPIs (e.g., response time, throughput, latency, error rates).
- Conduct load, stress, and scalability testing for multi-tenant cloud applications.
- Develop performance dashboards and deliver executive-level and technical reporting.
- Set up real-time monitoring and observability using modern telemetry tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Validate performance of critical workflows, including API endpoints and long-running queries.
- Capture and analyze system metrics (CPU, memory, disk, network) for diagnostics.
- Contribute to performance documentation and monthly status reports.
- Align performance testing strategies with DevSecOps and MLOps practices.
- Support cloud infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS) for secure workload execution.
- Implement server, network, and software configurations with a DevOps focus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- 1-3+ years of experience deploying and managing applications in commercial/private clouds (5+ years preferred).
- Experience in performance engineering and automated testing of cloud platforms.
- Proficiency with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, LoadRunner, BlazeMeter, k6).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch).
- Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or JavaScript for automation.
- Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices testing.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
- Knowledge of telemetry frameworks and logging standards.
- Experience analyzing test data and driving performance tuning.
- Agile/Scrum team experience and participation in sprint ceremonies.
- DevSecOps implementation experience using GitOps or similar tools.
- Experience with containerized application development (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Familiarity with version control and release management tools.
- Extensive experience in test planning, automation, execution, and analysis.
- Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS cloud models.
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure migrations to cloud platforms.
