Job Details

Job Title: Public Safety Communications Engineer
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid Schedule discussed during interview)
Interview Format: Microsoft Teams (Camera On, Vendor must attend start of interview, and screenshot of candidate required)
Job Description:
  • Provide expert support in the design and implementation of statewide LMR systems

  • Develop and manage frequency plans and FCC licensing for conventional and trunked systems

  • Ensure compliance with FCC Part 90 regulations and 4.9 GHz re-licensing procedures

  • Collaborate with FCC-certified frequency coordinators and Regional Planning Committees (RPCs)

  • Support cross-border coordination with Canadian frequency authorities

  • Advise on trunked and conventional system deployment in VHF, UHF, and 7/800 MHz bands

  • Participate in strategic planning and regulatory analysis for the MPSCS and its partners
