Job Title : ERP Functional Architect Dynamics GP & Business Central

Location: Remote EST

Work Hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM EST, Monday Friday (Weekend availability for maintenance events)

Job Description:

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced ERP Functional Architect to support and enhance our Microsoft Dynamics GP and Dynamics 365 Business Central platforms. This role will be instrumental in providing L1 and L2 support, driving system improvements, and leading ERP-related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business workflows and system goals.
  • Analyze current processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications and ERP workflows.

System Configuration & Functional Support

  • Configure and maintain modules in Dynamics GP and Business Central (Financials, Inventory, Sales, HR, Payroll).
  • Manage user access, security roles, and compliance alignment.
  • Provide day-to-day functional support and system administration.

Issue Resolution & Troubleshooting

  • Resolve functional issues, transaction errors, and data inconsistencies.
  • Act as SME for ERP troubleshooting and escalation.
  • Maintain documentation for issue resolution and knowledge sharing.

Implementation, Integration & Upgrades

  • Lead or support ERP implementations, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Ensure data integrity during transitions from GP to Business Central.
  • Collaborate with technical teams for system integrations (CRM, payroll, third-party tools).

Reporting & Documentation

  • Develop SOPs, training manuals, and system setup guides.
  • Create or support reports using SSRS, SmartList, Jet Reports, Power BI, etc.
  • Align reporting with business KPIs and operational goals.

User Training & Adoption

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for end-users.
  • Promote ERP best practices and ensure user adoption.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance, HR, Operations, and IT teams.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for third-party support.
  • Support phased integration between GP and Business Central.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in ERP functional roles, with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics GP and Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Strong understanding of US accounting principles and business operations.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server, T-SQL, and ERP data structures.
  • Experience with API integrations, cloud/on-premise deployments, and ERP add-ons.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with flexible availability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare or medical device industry.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Management Reporter, and Jet Reports.
  • Prior involvement in ERP migration projects from GP to Business Central.
