We are seeking a Senior Kubernetes Engineer to support our Modeling and Simulation (M&S) development team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to a high-profile, fast-paced program by assisting with the design, deployment, and management of Kubernetes-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Helm chart development and deployment management, and will be responsible for ensuring the security, stability, and performance of the Kubernetes platform that underpins our distributed microservices environment. You will work alongside platform engineers, DevSecOps specialists, and software developers to build resilient and scalable environments, automate Kubernetes operations, and harden the system for classified environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM
  • ship with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • 10+ years of relevant technical experience, including:
    • Installation, configuration, and ongoing administration of Kubernetes clusters
    • Strong experience building, managing, and troubleshooting complex Helm charts
    • Fluency with Kubernetes resource management and deployment strategies
    • Proficient with containerization tools such as Docker, Podman, or CRI-O
    • Solid understanding of infrastructure automation
    • Strong Linux system administration skills, including SELinux
    • Proficient with Git version control
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, agile environment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Kubernetes hardening and security best practices
  • Experience with observability tools such as Grafana and ELK stack
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
  • Familiarity with service mesh technologies and Kafka-based event streaming
  • Experience with DoD environments and security compliance requirements such as RMF & STIGs
  • Exposure to Zero Trust architectures or hardened Linux distributions
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or DoD-specific platforms
  • Certification in Istio, Kubernetes, AWS, or related technologies
