Location: Oxford, MA
Salary: $45,000.00 USD Annually - $63,000.00 USD Annually
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Senior Optical Mechanical Technician who will be supporting the development and launch of cutting-edge UV laser products. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for the precision alignment and assembly of laser cavities, system testing, troubleshooting, and sub-assembly construction. You'll play a vital part in ensuring performance excellence and product readiness by collaborating across departments and maintaining a high standard of lab operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-precision optical alignment and assembly of UV laser cavities
  • Conduct final product testing and qualification using advanced diagnostic tools
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues, providing effective solutions and documentation
  • Build and test optical and mechanical sub-assemblies with meticulous attention to detail
  • Manage production workflows, including work order entry and general lab maintenance
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Provide final test data, reports, and technical feedback to Manufacturing and Product Development teams


Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven expertise in laser optical alignment and optical/electronic test setups
  • Strong understanding of non-linear frequency conversion
  • Exceptional hand-eye coordination and experience handling optics under a microscope
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing sensitive, high-value optical and electronic components
  • Skilled in precision soldering and assembly techniques
  • Familiarity with cleanroom environments and proper use of PPE (full suit & mask)
  • Comfortable working independently with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
  • Ability to follow SOPs and suggest process improvements as needed
