Description
We are seeking a highly skilled RF Connectivity Validation Engineer to validate and optimize wireless performance
across multiple connectivity technologies including Wi-Fi (6/6E/7), Bluetooth (Classic/LE), UWB, and GNSS. The
ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in RF principles and hands-on experience with over-the-air (OTA)
testing, coexistence analysis, and system-level performance debugging. This role will work closely with hardware,
software, and system engineering teams to ensure robust wireless performance in complex product environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Define, plan, and execute comprehensive validation strategies for multi-radio systems, based on system
specifications and product use-cases.
Develop regression and performance test plans that ensure coverage of critical KPIs such as RSSI, PER,
throughput, latency, roaming, and desense.
Automate RF test workflows using scripting languages and lab tools to scale validation coverage across
platforms and software builds.
Conduct characterization and debugging of wireless performance issues using diagnostic tools (e.g.,
spectrum analyzers, sniffer tools, TCP dump, Wireshark, Ellisys, QXDM).
Monitor and analyze coexistence behavior between multiple wireless systems, and develop strategies to
mitigate interference and optimize performance.
Drive root-cause analysis of RF-related issues, correlating hardware, firmware, and protocol-level data to
identify and resolve system bottlenecks.
Work with internal and external teams (HW/SW vendors, CM/JDM/OEM partners) to ensure wireless KPIs
are met across design and production stages.
Track project progress with clear validation metrics, log management, and documentation to support
readiness for key program milestones and certifications (FCC, CE, PTCRB, etc.).
Required Qualifications:
Solid understanding of RF fundamentals including impedance matching, antenna behavior, link budgets,
and desense characterization.
Proven experience validating wireless technologies: Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be), Bluetooth (Classic,
BLE), UWB (IEEE 802.15.4z), and GNSS.
Proficiency in RF validation tools such as spectrum analyzers, vector signal generators, RF chambers, and
sniffer tools (Wireshark, Frontline, Ellisys).
Strong scripting and automation skills in Python; familiarity with SQL, MATLAB, or other data analysis tools
is a plus.
Experience with wireless chipset platforms (e.g., Qualcomm, Broadcom, Mediatek, NXP) and embedded
logging/debugging tools.
Comfortable working on Linux-based systems and integrating with embedded platforms or Android-based
test devices.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with PHY/MAC layers of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and tools to interpret low-level logs (e.g., HCI
traces, TCPDump, chipset-specific debuggers).
Background in OTA testing environments, including anechoic chambers, shield boxes, and mobile
automation test setups.
Experience with wireless telemetry, edge AI integrations, or proximity sensing applications using
BLE/UWB/Wi-Fi.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
802.11
Bluetooth
Audio streaming
Wifi coding
Bluetooth: Access points
Wifi: Range testing, In house
Wifi: AR VR, WLAN - WIFI, In and out of Bluetooth (Protocols/layers/ etc.), 2-3 lines of BT - range, headsets, products.
Preferred Skills
Practical knowledge of at least one Wireless Technology including WLAN, BT, GPS
Understanding of Android frameworks and architecture
Hands-on experience with bench level wireless testing, reference board or system level
Should be able to write automation scripts
Experience debugging RF SW and HW failures, identifying root-causes and recommending fixes
Experience with protocol analyzers, log analyzers, sniffers
