This position is responsible for supporting the full API implementation lifecycle including functional testing and initial post-production observation for quality assurance. The API Operations Consultant should be able to work independently following the SOP and demonstrate good judgement and decision making throughout the process.

The API Operations Consultant is a professional client interacting position. It focuses on the implementation of Application Program Interfaces (API); the digital connections between the client and its trading partners. The API Operations Consultant performs a range of semi-technical configuration activities according to a defined standard operating procedure (SOP) designed to achieve a high level of efficiency and good customer service. Using the framework of the SOP, the API Operations Consultant works with the client and other stakeholders, both internal and external, to define and implement their specific configuration.
This position is responsible for supporting the full API implementation lifecycle including functional testing and initial post-production observation for quality assurance. The API Operations Consultant should be able to work independently following the SOP and demonstrate good judgement and decision making throughout the process.
Primary Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- Working collaboratively within API Operations and across client teams and Trading Partners to maintain effective partnerships
- Managing API implementations utilizing their defined processes to meet timeliness and quality service objectives. This includes:
o Coordinating with client, broker, trading partner and client field support personnel, including kick off calls
o Managing stakeholder expectation regarding schedules, dependencies, and implementation milestones
o Function as the client s primary point of contact for API implementation related questions throughout the implementation process.
o Facilitate a timely and efficient transition from testing to production
o Maintaining current status, performing regular case follow-ups, and escalation when they are in jeopardy.
o Resolving routine data exchange issues in the immediate post-production hypercare phase
- Supporting post-production configuration changes related to renewals and amendments as needed
- Providing email support for general service inquiries from a common service support queue (support email inbox)
- Providing continuous improvement feedback to improve current and future processes
Basic Qualifications Required - Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
- 2 years experience in a client facing position.
- Ability to analyze information, prioritize and solve recurring issues.
- Ability to work on multiple projects with designated timelines.
- Ability to develop and manage relationships with Trading Partners
- Working knowledge of Workday.
- Knowledge of API Implementation with clients is required.
- Highly motivated and disciplined.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
- Bachelor s degree.
- 1 year experience working with API digital connections between insurance carriers and Benefit Administration & HRIS platforms like Workday, UKG, PlanSource, ADP, etc.
- Experience with Postman API testing tool
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Critical thinking skills - using logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to apply past learning s to develop long-term solutions.
- Must be an independent thinker self-guided and self-reliant
- Must work efficiently and effectively as a team
- Ability to be innovative and creative.
- Demonstrated proficiency with PC software, with emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite and web tools for conferencing.
