Job Title: Python Developer AWS EKS (Mandatory)
Location: Reston, VA (Hybrid )

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Python Developer (not a Data Engineer or DevOps Engineer) with strong AWS EKS experience. This is a pure development role, focused on application development and platform enhancements.
Must-Haves:
- Python: Strong programming & development skills (developing templates, leveraging AWS services, not just scripting/automation).
- AWS: Hands-on experience with core AWS services.
- Containerization: Solid understanding of containers, base images, troubleshooting errors, and performance optimization.
- EKS: Strong hands-on knowledge; migrating applications from EC2 to EKS.
Nice-to-Haves:
- DevOps/CI Tools: GitLab, Terraform, Jenkins.
- Additional Programming Languages: Java/J2EE or others.
Notes:
- This is not a DevOps or Data Engineering role it s strictly development-focused.
- Team owns and customizes DevOps tools end-to-end (GitLab, Terraform, Jenkins, etc.) but the main focus is EKS migration.
- Work includes developing enhancements and customization in Python to support governance, platform improvements, and optimized CI/CD pipelines.
- The environment is highly containerized developers must understand base images and their impact on CI/CD pipelines.
- Large-scale migration: ~2000 runners moving to EKS clusters.
