Piper Companies is seeking a Molecular Genetics Scientist to join a global leader in biopharmaceutical innovation, offering a dynamic environment where you can contribute to cutting-edge quality auditing projects for an on-site contract position through the end of the year based in Durham, North Carolina (NC). The Molecular Genetics Scientist will execute molecular biology experiments using CRISPR gene editing and cell culture techniques to generate high-quality data through high-throughput screening assays during a focused 6-month research project.

Responsibilities of the Molecular Genetics Scientist include:
- Conduct hands-on molecular biology experiments utilizing advanced techniques including CRISPR gene editing, primary tissue culture, and sterile microbiological procedures
- Execute and optimize high-throughput screening assays, from initial development through final data collection and analysis
- Perform complex cell culture work with various human cell lines, applying expertise in sterile technique and standard laboratory protocols
- Design and implement molecular biology experiments using CRISPR-based approaches (CRISPRa/i/KO) with immediate impact on ongoing research projects within a fast-paced, 6-month timeline
Qualifications for the Molecular Genetics Scientist include:
- 3-5 years of experience in the research industry
- Proven hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and advanced microbiological techniques, including proficient pipetting skills
- Strong foundation in molecular biology methodologies and experimental design, with ability to execute projects independently
- Experience with CRISPR gene editing technologies, or equivalent expertise in primary tissue culture, muscle biology, or IPSE methodologies (preferred)
- Must be available for immediate start and able to commit to a 6-month project timeline, with strong documentation practices and attention to detail
- PhD or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or related life sciences field with demonstrated expertise in sterile technique and fundamental laboratory protocols
Compensation for the Molecular Genetics Scientist:
- Salary Range: $25-$30 /hour
