Position Summary: Linux Systems Administrator
Duration: 12 months contract (with potential for extension or conversion)

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join the Enterprise Batch Team, supporting both on-premise and cloud-based batch application platforms. This is a backfill role on a team of 6 onshore and 5 offshore members, with light development responsibilities and a focus on stability, optimization, and cloud integration.

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join the Enterprise Batch Team, supporting both on-premise and cloud-based batch application platforms. This is a backfill role on a team of 6 onshore and 5 offshore members, with light development responsibilities and a focus on stability, optimization, and cloud integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Linux servers and support channels (Slack) for issue resolution.
- Participate in on-call rotation (primarily handled offshore).
- Troubleshoot and maintain KornShell scripts, Docker containers, and application workflows.
- Tune Java and Python workloads in containerized environments.
- Support CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) and assist in deployments.
- Automate operational tasks using shell scripting or Python.
- Apply security patches and maintain documentation.
- Collaborate with application teams on job migrations and data center transitions.
- Present ideas for platform improvements and proactively identify issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong Linux administration (RedHat 8 preferred).
- Advanced scripting: UNIX Shell, KornShell, Python.
- Experience with Docker containers and CI/CD (GitLab).
- AWS expertise: AWS Batch, S3, Lambda, Glue.
- Familiarity with job scheduling tools (e.g., Control-M).
- Exposure to monitoring tools: Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Understanding of AWS orchestration tools: EventBridge, Step Functions, SQS.
