Job Description

This position is responsible for the design, implementation and support of control system projects from their initial planning and conceptual stage through design, implementation, successful start-up, and acceptance by operating management. The design, implementation, and startup of these control systems involve the application of advanced computer/PLC/HMI programming, electrical controls knowledge, and process engineering skills. Knowledge of PLC hardware/software design and system integration is required.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new control systems for capital projects
  • PLC programming and application development
  • Enhance and support existing control systems. 24x7 support may be required for critical situations.
  • Develops design specifications and user documentation for control system capital projects
  • Complete control system hardware and panel design
  • Assist with the design and specification of process instrumentation including but not limited to temperature, pressure, level, flow, and valves
  • Specify equipment, obtain cost estimates, generate bill of materials and expedite purchasing and fabrication of electrical controls equipment
  • Support contractor management on project assignments
  • Support control system commissioning through site acceptance
  • Develop control system documentation and reference material for site operations and technical support personnel
  • Drive continuous improvement through enhancements to existing control software and hardware systems
  • Provide technical support for root cause analysis related to control system issues and failures

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future (e.g., OPT, CPT, H1B, EB-1,etc.)
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering
  • Must have two (2) years of experience in controls or process engineering

Preferred Qualification:
  • Have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering
  • Have at least one (1) experience with electrical systems including compliance with NEC and other applicable codes
  • Have at least one (1) experience with Compose Functional Specifications and approve corresponding vendor bids
  • Have at least one (1) year experience in AutoCAD, RsLogix 5000, RsFactoryTalk Studio Edition, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project
  • Have at least one (1) year of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and/or Outlook)
  • Have at least one (1) years Portfolio and project management
