Entry Level Systems Engineer

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization is seeking an Entry Level Systems Engineer to respond to technical inquiries from our AWACS customers. This position will physically reside in Oklahoma City, OK.

Position Responsibilities

Duties will include but not be limited to:
  • Development and coordination of timely high-quality responses, within time and budget constraints, to customer technical inquiries regarding airframe, avionics, engine, and Mission System issues.
  • Analyze, evaluate and develop recommendations to the customer regarding compliance with FAA Airworthiness Directives, Boeing Alert Service Bulletins and other Service Engineering documents as required.
  • Coordinate development of AWACS Service Letters to address configuration uniqueness requirements for accomplishing inspections and modifications to the airplane.
  • Assist with Non-Recurring Engineering activities including feasibility/trade studies, analyses, and cost estimation of potential modification projects.
  • Provide Engineering review and proper disposition of Publications Change Requests; coordinate implementation of changes with Tech Pubs organization as required.
  • Interface with customer Engineering counterparts as needed to facilitate understanding and support of operator technical issues and their resolution.
  • Coordinate needed changes to Engineering drawings and technical publications determined in the development of responses to operator technical inquiries.

This position is 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to research and understand Engineering drawings.
  • Ability to research and understand Wiring diagrams
  • Ability to research and understand the military Technical Order system
  • Ability to research and understand Boeing Commercial Maintenance and Service documents
  • Ability to communicate well with other engineers and customers
  • Ability to develop clearly written technical communications and documents
  • Self-motivated and well organized.
