Job Title: Senior PACS Administrator Location: Oakland, Rancho Cordova, San Francisco Bay Area, CA/REMOTE
Note:
If close to SF or Rancho Cordova offices, expected to be in office 2-3 times a week.
If remote, expected to be in office 2-3 days a month
For both scenarios, presence in office may increase during key milestone events, project go-live.
Job Summary:
The Senior PACS Administrator will be responsible for the implementation, administration, and expansion of our PACS environment across multiple locations. This role requires hands-on experience with PACS systems, Epic integration (Epic Bridges, HL7, and DICOM interfaces), imaging workflows, and scalable multi-site deployments. The ideal candidate has successfully integrated PACS with Epic and has experience working with technical interfaces and interoperability solutions.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
5+ years of PACS administration experience in a dental or medical setting.
Proven experience integrating PACS with Epic PMS using Epic Bridges, HL7 interfaces, and DICOM protocols.
Strong technical expertise in PACS architecture, DICOM, HL7, and interoperability frameworks.
Hands-on experience with MiPACS, Dexis, and other dental/medical imaging software.
Experience with technical interfaces, including API-based and HL7-driven integrations with EHR/PMS.
Understanding of CBCT and 3D imaging workflows.
Knowledge of PACS-VNA architectures, data storage strategies, and cloud-based imaging solutions.
Familiarity with Epic Bridges, Chronicles, and interoperability tools for imaging data exchange.
Understanding of network protocols related to PACS (DICOM, TCP/IP, VPNs).
Troubleshooting latency, image retrieval issues, and connectivity problems.
Working with Active Directory, LDAP, and access control for PACS security
Experience in DICOM modality worklists (MWL) and structured reports (SR
Strong troubleshooting skills and experience collaborating with vendors.
Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data security best practices.
Ability to train and support end-users effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in dental PACS administration.
Knowledge of SQL and database management
Prior experience in a high-growth, multi-clinic healthcare or dental organization.
Knowledge of Azure or AWS cloud-hosted imaging solutions.
Experience with API-based integrations for PACS and imaging workflows.
