Network Engineer, Senior
The Opportunity:

A well-designed and secure network is critical to move data and enable Department of Defense to achieve their mission, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and sof tware, requires a combination of te chn ical skill and careful planning. That's why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to craft the exact network, the DoD needs.

As a network engineer on our team, you'll work with the DoD to develop a reliable network to support critical missions. You'll collaborate with SMEs, customers and users to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements. You'll then share your expertise during the planning of acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the network components. From resolving interoperability issues across platforms, to supporting the acquisition of hardware, you'll put your hardware and sof tware talents to good use. This is your chance to share your experience with backbone networks, cloud te chn ologies, and core networking, while broadening your network engineering work. You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience with designing, deploying, and advancing support of multi-protocol IP backbone and access networks
  • Experienced with layer 2 and layer 3 networking
  • Experienced with deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multivendor network and security equipment and solutions, including Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, Dell, HPE, or VMware
  • Experience with routers and switches and protocols, including BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS, STP, or L3VPNs
  • Experience with documenting complex network and security systems and procedures to implement and troubleshoot such systems
  • Experience with classified networks
  • Knowledge of operating, deploying, or administering Linux or UNIX systems
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification within 6 months of hire


Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with DoD networks
  • Experience with STIGing or security hardening of systems
  • Experience with operating, deploying, or administering Windows systems and services
  • Experience with Commer cia l or DoD Cloud networks
  • Experience with Sof tware Defined Wide Area Networks ( SD-WAN )
  • Experience with F5 systems
  • Master's degree
  • Industry Networking Certification, including CCNA, CCNP, VMWare, JN CIA , or JNCP

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
