Position Overview
The Cybersecurity Architect acts as a trusted advisor on security strategy and serves as a key contributor in developing and implementing secure design practices across enterprise initiatives. This role focuses on shaping and executing cybersecurity solutions within emerging technology areas-particularly artificial intelligence (AI) and related integrations. The architect will help define and maintain security frameworks, standards, and technical guidance that ensure consistent protection of data, systems, and infrastructure across the organization.

Working within projects of moderate complexity and scope, the Cybersecurity Architect creates security models, design principles, and implementation patterns that support long-term business objectives. The role also participates in continuous monitoring and evaluation of existing security measures to confirm their effectiveness and alignment with enterprise risk management goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and refine enterprise security architectures and standards, with a strong focus on AI systems and integrations.
  • Conduct security assessments and ongoing monitoring to verify the strength and compliance of existing controls.
  • Design, document, and maintain reusable architecture components, blueprints, and frameworks that guide technology implementation.
  • Ensure that security controls are embedded within all technical designs and project lifecycles.
  • Contribute to governance and technology review processes to uphold architectural consistency and security best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technology roadmaps, evaluate new solutions, and provide recommendations for secure adoption.
  • Produce technical documentation and transition materials to support project handoffs and operational readiness.
  • Analyze architectural strengths and weaknesses, including risk factors around performance, confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Support the selection and integration of new tools, platforms, and security technologies.
  • Stay informed on emerging threats, technologies, and frameworks to proactively improve the organization's security posture.
  • Communicate complex security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Create proofs of concept or prototypes based on proposed security designs when needed.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field-or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity architecture, design, implementation, or monitoring.
  • Active CISSP certification required upon submission or offer acceptance.

Preferred:
  • 2+ years of direct experience building or reviewing security architectures for enterprise-level projects.
  • Cloud security expertise across one or more major platforms.
  • Background in Identity and Access Management (IAM), including both workforce and customer identity solutions.
  • Previous experience within the healthcare or regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and secure DevOps practices.
