Job Description:

Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Type: 6 month Contract to Hire
Location: Andover, MA
Our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team and work on a system infrastructure for one of their robotic systems. For immediate consideration please contact Lauren Pritts at .
This role will be a 6 month contract to hire in Andover, MA.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Utilizing state-of-the-art engineering tools, under the direction of engineering, develop designs for and detail mechanical, electro-mechanical, sheet metal/structural assemblies using the CREO modeling software
  • Produce high-quality work with attention to detail.
  • Review engineering specifications and incorporate them into design drawings.
  • Reference design standards and system requirements to define hardware configurations.
  • Populate and release detailed parts lists/Bill of Materials for fabrication.
  • Release the documentation in the PLM system.
  • Revise models and documentation of existing designs.
  • Coordinate multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while still meeting scheduled project deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of multiple teams as well as independently.
    Required Experience & Skills:

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelors Degree in preferably Mechanical Engineering.
    • 5-plus years related experience
    • Proficiency in 3D & 2D CAD aspects of PTC CREO and Windchill software.
    • Understanding of dimensional standards and the latest version of ASME Y14.5 - Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning.
    • Have a thorough knowledge of documentation practices for the machined, cast, molded, formed, sheet metal and welded parts.
    • Familiarity with material types, shapes, and specifications, including metals, plastics, structural components.
    • Knowledge of metalworking processes such as machining, turning, bending and welding.
    • Experience in the creation of Bills of Materials.
    • Experience releasing design documentation in PLM System.
    • Experience working within a mid to high volume manufacturing environment.
    • Competency in Basic Microsoft Office software products. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Experience with design and documentation of complex electromechanical assemblies.
    • Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills for technical teams. Capable of communicating with engineers, customers, and vendors.
    • Working knowledge of CREO Cabling & Piping Module.
    • Working knowledge of Omnify PLM Software (or Equivalent)
    • Ability to work in a cross-functional organization.
    • Knowledge of Solidworks 3D and PDM Professional software.
    • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
