Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced WIFI Design Engineering Lead to support
the Air Force Base Infrastructure Modernization Project. The ideal
candidate will have deep knowledge and expertise in designing,
implementing, and optimizing WIFI networks. This role will require
leadership skills to guide and mentor a team of engineers, as well as
the ability to work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless
integration and performance of our WIFI solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Implementation:
- Lead the design and implementation of WIFI networks, including
access points, controllers, and security architecture.
- Conduct site surveys to determine the best placement and
configuration of WIFI infrastructure.
- Perform network analysis and performance tuning to ensure
optimal WIFI performance and user experience.
- Implement best practices for optimizing WIFI coverage, capacity,
and reliability.
- Project Management:
- Oversee WIFI design projects from conception to delivery,
ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
- Collaborate with project managers to coordinate schedules,
resources, and deliverables.
- Mentor and guide a team of WIFI engineers, providing technical
direction and support.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Create and maintain detailed design documents, network diagrams,
and configuration guides.
- Generate reports on network performance, project progress, and
potential issues.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in WIFI design and deployment.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams or projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of WIFI standards, RF design, and spectrum
analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of Ekahau network design tools.
- Ability to apply building drawings to Ekahau equipment, create
heat maps and apply design solutions to the needed locations
following design parameters.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure components including
switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless controllers.
- Education and Certification:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have CWDP Certification. (Certified Wireless Design
Professional)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with enterprise-grade WIFI solutions from vendors such as
Cisco, Aruba, Ubiquiti, etc.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot
complex network issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the
ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical
stakeholders.
Working Conditions:
- Requires travel to various sites for testing and installation
support.
- Minimum DOD Clearance: Secret.
- Travel to various Air Force Bases required based on project needs.
