SYSCOM s seeking a ServiceNow Developer to join our client s team and contribute to the continuous improvement of their ServiceNow platform, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of their organization and enhances their service delivery capabilities.

Work Location & Hours: Hybrid work location with 60% onsite time in Arlington, VA 22201. Note this is a part time position, 20 hours per week. 

Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and configure ServiceNow software solutions using JavaScript, Jelly, Web Services, MYSQL, XML, HTML, and CSS.
  • Customize and configure out-of-the-box workflows and create/maintain custom workflows.
  • Integrate ServiceNow applications with third-party systems/applications via APIs.
  • Perform application maintenance, manage support for incidents related to ServiceNow applications, and contribute to ServiceNow software releases by delivering configuration tasks and features.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to capture business and user requirements and develop elegant solutions that meet those needs.
  • Provide input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals.
  • Prepare reports on analyses and system performance issues and determine performance enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field is desired. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Strong knowledge of the ServiceNow data model and relationships.
  • Significant experience in ServiceNow test, development, and production environments.
  • Significant experience capturing user stories, working through a ServiceNow backlog, and delivering to meet user requirements.
  • Experience with Configuration Management (CMDB), LDAP integration, and custom scripting.
  • Minimum of three years experience developing on the ServiceNow platform, including the creation and/or customization of core applications such as Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request, Service Catalog, and Hardware Asset Management.
  • Significant experience developing workflows in Workflow Editor and Flow Designer.
  • Proficient with custom web services, custom notifications, assessments, and custom applications.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Highly desirable qualifications include:

  • Service Now System Administration and/or Application Developer certification is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, AWS Redshift).
  • ITIL, ITSM, or other relevant certifications.
