Description

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of software systems and tools. This long-term contract position is based in Washington D.C., District of Columbia, and offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects that drive operational success. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex problems.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and debug software programs to enhance existing systems and create new solutions.
Perform thorough software requirements analysis to ensure compatibility with hardware and compliance with project objectives.
Collaborate with internal and client teams to develop technical solutions and ensure alignment with project goals.
Apply industry standards, principles, and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Develop and maintain software tools to support infrastructure, platforms, and overall system performance.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, providing timely solutions to ensure project continuity.
Mentor and guide entry level technical staff, providing expertise and constructive feedback to enhance team capabilities.
Conduct deep technical analyses to identify and implement improvements that optimize end-product functionality.
Influence project teams by presenting solution designs and approaches to meet client and organizational needs.
Ensure software solutions comply with security protocols, including HIPAA regulations, and maintain system integrity.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 4-8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of experience.
Proven expertise in software engineering principles, including design, development, and testing.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and familiarity with cloud technologies and automation.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
Knowledge of configuration management and integration practices to ensure seamless system operation.
Experience with troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges in complex environments.
Familiarity with security standards and best practices, including HIPAA compliance.
Ability to analyze and optimize processes to improve system performance and reliability.
