Position: Senior VMware/Nutanix Engineer
Location: Remote (Must live in Southern CA, preferably near San Diego)
Travel: Bi-monthly or quarterly to Las Vegas
Start Date: First week of September
Duration: Multi-year contract
Eligibility: No citizenship restrictions, must have significant verifiable US experience

Role Overview

Looking for senior-level engineers with strong hands-on expertise in both VMware and Nutanix platforms to own infrastructure initiatives end-to-end design, deployment, optimization, and ongoing support.

Must-Have Technical Skills

VMware Stack: vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, NSX, vSAN
Nutanix Stack: AOS, AHV, Prism Central
Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) expertise
End-to-end infrastructure design & deployment
Performance tuning & capacity planning
High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and Business Continuity strategies
Strong troubleshooting skills & thorough documentation habits

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

Integration with public cloud platforms: AWS or Azure
Scripting: PowerCLI, Bash, Python
Monitoring/management tools: vRealize, Prism Central
Certifications: VCP, VCAP, or NCP

Work Model

Remote with occasional onsite presence as per project needs
Must be local to Southern California or willing to relocate
Comfortable with bi-monthly/quarterly Las Vegas travel

Senior-level only minimum 5+ years hands-on virtualization engineering experience

Job Scope Summary

Manage and optimize virtualized infrastructure environments across enterprise data centers & cloud-integrated platforms
Work on both projects (migrations, implementations, upgrades) and day-to-day operations
