We are seeking a seasoned Assistant Vice President of IT Operations to join our team. Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight and maintenance of our entire global IT infrastructure, including public and private cloud environments, networks, virtual servers, and end-user devices. This is a senior leadership role that requires a blend of technical expertise, operational excellence, and strategic vision to drive modernization and ensure the scalability and reliability of our systems.

responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Plan and direct all operational activities of the IT Operations department, providing strategic direction for solutions that support mission-critical business operations.
- Infrastructure Oversight: Manage the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, performance, and security across both on-premise and cloud-based systems.
- Software Development: Need to have prior experience in User Acceptance Testing and Quality Assurance
- Cloud Modernization: Develop and execute a multi-year modernization roadmap, leading cloud migration strategies, optimizing cloud performance, and driving automation and DevOps practices.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management: Oversee relationships with external service providers and vendors, negotiating contracts and SLAs to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Process Improvement: Design, implement, and mature ITIL-aligned service management processes to achieve consistent and predictable end-user experiences.
- Team Development: Build, mentor, and lead a geographically dispersed team of IT operations and service-management professionals, fostering a culture of teamwork and customer focus.
- Performance Metrics: Define, track, and report service metrics (e.g., SLAs, MTTR) to drive continuous improvement and provide clear visibility to business leaders.

qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in IT operations, service management, or infrastructure leadership.
- Leadership: A proven track record of successfully leading and managing IT teams, with strong problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- ITSM & Cloud Expertise: Deep, hands-on expertise with ITSM frameworks (ITIL v3/v4) and a strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Modernization Initiatives: Proven experience leading large-scale modernization projects, including cloud migrations, automation (Ansible, Terraform), and DevOps pipelines.
- Vendor Management: Strong experience in managing vendor relationships, including defining contracts and driving performance improvements.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (a Master's degree is a plus).

- Communication: Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical complexity into clear business value.
- Global Experience: Experience with a global organizational structure, including a parent/subsidiary model.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with key insurance processes and back-office functions.
